At Holy Cross we believe that a vital worship and spiritual life is essential to the vitality of the parish and can shape us into committed, engaged people of prayer and action.
The spirituality of people experiencing grief and loss is as varied as there are unique persons created by our God. So the process of healing and transforming of our loss and sorrow is a unique journey for each individual. Pivotal to the process of healing is inviting God more fully into our hearts as we gently explore our tender heart's inner movements during this most precious and sacred time.
We strive for good liturgical celebrations that encourage the active participation of all present. As in all ministry we ask our liturgical ministers to be disciples of Jesus first so their ministry nourishes the faith of all who gather to celebrate the Eucharist.
" The primary role of music in the Liturgy is to help the members of the gathered assembly to join themselves with the action of Christ and to give voice to the gift of faith." (quote from Sing to the Lord: Music in Divine Worship, USCCB 11/07). Here at Holy Cross the ministers of Music in Worship strive to select music for Worship that is inspired by the Word of God in Scripture and draws the assembly closer to the mystery of Christ.
Sacraments are visible, concrete signs of God's love relationship with us and are actions of the Holy Spirit at work in the Church. Through them, we mark and celebrate sacred moments of our relationship with Jesus, and they make present and visible God's unwavering love for us.
